The University of Alaska Anchorage is the state's largest post secondary institution. It is comprised of the Anchorage Campus located in the heart of Alaska's largest city, as well as Kenai Peninsula College, Matanuska Susitna College, Kodiak College and Prince William Sound College, all located in some of the most beautiful places in Alaska.
From a sketch on a paper napkin many years ago, the concept of a premiere sports and community center has developed into a reality not only for the University of Alaska Anchorage, but for the greater community of Anchorage and the region. The Alaska Airlines Center, located on the UAA campus, is a 5,000 seat athletic arena built to host UAA sports. The AAC is equipped with an 800 seat auxiliary gym; a state of the art sports medicine suite; an indoor two-lane walking and jogging track; a gymnastics training and competition gym; and a separate training and strength conditioning facility for athletes. Located upstairs on the Suite Level, the Varsity Sports Grill will be serving lunch and dinner featuring local craft beer and fine wine. Be sure to try the pizza fresh from the wood-fired pizza oven! Along with hosting UAA sports, the AAC will be a destination venue for concerts and family shows, making it a true community arena.
