July 16-17 2021 Virtual Conference
A conference focused on Women, Diversity, and Inclusion in Information Security

Due to the global pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the Diana Initiative had to pivot into a virtual format. We’re proud to say that our over 1700 attendees had a great time over 2 days, with 3 talk tracks, 3 virtual villages, lots of fellow non-profit booths, and another amazing Capture the Flag event, not to mention the fun Networking after party!

Our Mission:
Elevate, Inspire, and Support women and non-binary people of all races, cultures, and backgrounds through every stage of their Information Security career with Education, Collaboration, and Resources offered online and at inclusive & welcoming conferences.

The Diana Initiative Is:
A conference focused on Women, Diversity, and Inclusion in Information Security that embraces all genders, sexualities, and skill levels. The Diana Initiative features multiple speaker tracks, fully expanded villages with hands-on workshops, and a women-led Capture the Flag event.

This year our theme is “Spark A Journey.” Our discussions will focus on emphasizing the ability in each of us to spark many journeys, and how we can be an inspiration and driving force for increasing representation in cybersecurity – whether gender, race, sexuality, skill level and neurodiversity.

Our Vision:
We envision a future of diverse gender parity represented at all levels in the information security industry and community.

In Japanese tradition, anyone who folded 1000 origami paper cranes would be granted a wish. As The Diana Initiative goes virtual again, we all have a wish in our hearts. That wish may at once be the same wish and a wish that would yield different individual outcomes. Our differences unite us, and each wish is as unique as the individuals who take part in The Diana Initiative.
 
Like the rising of the phoenix in our organization's logo, the folding of paper cranes represents a metamorphosis. From the origin of a humble square, the birds get a leg up, stick out their necks, and take flight on a journey.
 
This year's logo breaks away from the usual symmetry for a more sparse and contemplative layout. Life is uncertain, and for many of us it's also out-of-balance. The logotype is printed on the sleeve of the t-shirt, where many of us are taking a vaccine, as part of our wish to meet again.
